Position Requirements:
We are seeking a caring and kind food service worker to prepare fresh, healthy meals for young children.  If you are passionate about good nutrition and health and safety for little people, we want to talk to you!

  • High School Diploma or equivalent, plus one-year experience in a school, childcare center, or children’s institution.
  • Previous experience with food preparation.
  • Food handler’s certificate and a health card are required.
  • Must be able to pass a pre-employment and/or periodic physical examination, TB skin test, and complete background check every 24 months.

  • Must be able to frequently walk and stand for extended time periods.
  • Ability to lift/carry up to 50 pounds. Must be able to twist, turn, kneel, bend and stoop.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Must be able to monitor children’s safety in activities when needed.

Responsibilities:
  • Prepare appropriate meals and snacks in a manner suitable for young children and in accordance with the menus provided.
  • Keep the kitchen area neat, clean and sanitary.
  • Wash dishes, store all utensils, and provide proper maintenance of all special kitchen appliances. Serve the meals and snacks as required.
  • Maintain and store all foods in a safe and sanitary manner.
  • Complete grocery orders and other USDA/Agency required forms for food in accordance with specified procedures.
  • Submit required forms on a timely basis.
  • Attend training sessions designed to improve knowledge of meeting the nutritional needs of young children.
  • Other related duties as assigned.
