Child Care Teacher (Fort Worth-Meacham)

Position Information:

We are looking for a compassionate and dedicated Child Care Teacher to join our team. The ideal candidate will create a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment where children can learn and grow. Responsibilities include designing and implementing age-appropriate activities, fostering social and cognitive development, and ensuring the well-being of every child in the classroom.

  • High school diploma or GED required; CDA, associate or bachelor's degree in early childhood education or a related field preferred.
  •  Previous experience in a childcare setting or early childhood education preferred.
  • CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Must have basic computer technology skills, including frequent use of curriculum and assessment software.
  • Patience, creativity, and a passion for working with young children.
  • Must demonstrate the ability to communicate and interact effectively and professionally with both children and adults.
  • Insured and reliable vehicle for transportation.
  •  Must be able to pass a pre-employment and periodic physical examination, TB skin test, and complete background check every 24 months.

  •  Must be able to walk at a fast pace and engage in physically active play for extended periods of time.
  • Lead groups of children in brisk 10-minute walks at least once daily per the daily schedule/lesson plan.
  • Must be able to stand for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to lift/carry up to 30 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Must be able to frequently to twist, turn, kneel, bend and stoop and get down on the floor with the children multiple times per day. Must be able to perform physical activities with children.
  • Must be able to actively monitor children’s safety in all activities. 

Responsibilities:
  • Always actively supervise and ensure the safety and well-being of children.
  • Develop and implement age-appropriate play-based lesson plans that include hands-on learning engagements and foster development.
  • Implement positive behavioral guidance techniques to foster a nurturing, inclusive classroom environment that supports children's emotional and social growth.
  • Communicate effectively with parents and guardians about their child's progress and any concerns.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe classroom environment.
  • Assist children with all caregiving needs, including meals, naps, and hygiene needs.
  • Observe and assess children's development, documenting progress and identifying any areas of concern.
  • Collaborate with other teachers and staff to create a supportive educational setting.
  • Follow all state licensing regulations and center policies regarding health, safety, and education standards.
  • Perform other related duties as required.
