What You'll Do

  • Prepare and serve nutritious, age-appropriate meals and snacks that support healthy growth and development.
  • Follow USDA guidelines and food safety standards to ensure meals are prepared accurately and safely.
  • Collaborate with infant teachers to develop individualized menus that meet the nutritional needs of infants.
  • Complete grocery orders, food service records, and required documentation accurately and on time.
  • Assist with inventory management for food, paper products, and cleaning supplies.
  • Maintain a clean, sanitary, and welcoming environment throughout the center, including classrooms, kitchens, bathrooms, and common areas.
  • Conduct daily safety inspections of indoor and outdoor areas to help ensure a secure environment for children.
  • Safely manage waste disposal and sanitation procedures.
  • Support classrooms and playground activities as needed to help maintain safe supervision ratios.
  • Participate in nutrition and sanitation trainings to stay current on best practices.
  • Travel occasionally to support other campuses when needed.

Minimum Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • At least one year of experience in maintenance, housekeeping, food service, or working in a school, childcare center, or children’s institution.
  • Experience with food preparation is preferred.
  • Must have a valid food handler certificate and health card.
  • Able to interact professionally with staff and children.
  • Must be able to read, speak, and understand English to follow instructions, complete forms, and manage inventory.
  • Must pass a pre-employment physical, periodic exams, TB test, and background check every 24 months.

Physical Requirements
  • Must be able to frequently walk and stand for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to lift/carry up to 50 pounds.
  • Must be able to twist, turn, kneel, bend, and stoop.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Must be able to monitor children’s safety in activities when needed
